The core problem of sustainability

I think sustainability as a necessity for us and our planet. Sure education, beliefs and so on have a very big role in this. Our culture - the typical west culture - is based on the fact that men are in some way superior to other creatures and nature itself. This leads to the belief that we can take as much as we want from the earth, because we are at the top. This is the first generation that have to really understand that in fact we are just one of the species on this planet. Unique in some ways but not better than any other species. Sure we can invest in education to teach people how to work better for the planet and how to promote a sustainable development, but personally I think we have to push aside this core belief that we are the supreme race. All the actions we take and all our focus should be on that matter.
